Does Size Matter?

Larger wheels can give a car a much more aggressive and angular look; therefore, it is quite popular to purchase larger wheels. In order to properly increase the size of your wheels, important things have to be taken into consideration.

When upgrading to a larger wheel size, you would also need to get a new set of matching tires. Low-profile tires will allow the overall diameter to remain the same. This will prevent getting incorrect speedometer readings. Wrong speed readings occur because larger wheels spin faster than smaller wheels.

Keeping the overall diameter the same will prevent the tire from scraping the inside of the wheel wells. Having low-profile tires; however, will reduce passenger comfort. Because there is less rubber around the wheels, pot holes and road bumps will not be as softened. Low-profile tires tend to have stiffer sidewalls.
